after the miles
from Scotland to New York to home again
I’ve been across the world in the past few weeks—
From Edinburgh’s rain-washed streets to the hills of the Scottish Highlands…
From releasing an EP on the Isle of Skye to wandering through Manhattan’s endless hum…
And now—back here.
In Texas.
Off-grid. In the quiet curve of my Airstream, tucked into the Hill Country.
If you didn’t know, I live full time in an Airstream trailer. It wasn’t always this way. It’s been a very recent change (within the last 4 months). Prior to that I lived downtown in Austin in a fancy high-rise condo building.

But now, I’m living the nomadic life. Home is wherever my trailer happens to be parked. Right now it’s out in the Hill Country of Texas.
There’s something about coming home after moving so far outward.
A stillness.
A softness.
An anti-climax, even.
The adrenaline wears off.
The stimulation fades.
You’re left with yourself.

And I don’t mean that in a bad way.
There’s just a kind of emptiness that follows the fullness. A space you have to feel before you fill it again.
This week I’ve been sitting with that space.
Sleeping late. Cooking simple food. Watching the light change on the metal walls of the trailer.
Letting the dust settle. Letting the inspiration speak. Journaling a lot.

Because even in the stillness—maybe especially in the stillness—new songs start to whisper.
I’ve written a new one this week. And I’m working on two new mixes.
There’s something alchemical about motion followed by silence. You go out into the world, and when you return, you’re not the same.

I’m grateful for that.
For the ability to move.
To make.
To come home again and still want to create.
How do you feel when you return home after a long trip?

🎙️ Voice Memo: Forest Eyes (Original Demo)
This one came out of the stillness. Just me, a guitar, and the hush of the Isle of Skye. The upload this week is the original demo I recorded on my iPhone voice memo app when all I had were a few chords and the idea for the melody. I didn’t have lyrics yet, but the core of the song is there. This became the first track on my latest EP “Letters from Skye”. This gives you a lens into the creative journey of a song, and how songs begin.
🎥 The Story Behind “Looking For You” (Mini Doc)
Filmed at the edge of my Airstream, this is the story behind one of my most personal songs. It’s about searching—for connection, for belonging, for something just out of reach.
